The defect at this property is algae staining, which has been caused by the incorrect installation of drainage. This allowed excess water to run down the render. To rectify this, we had to remove the algae, and then we pressure washed and cleaned the affected elevations. We then over coated the property in our specialist resin emulsion paint to produce the desired finish.
The homeowner at this property was concerned about the cracks in their render. These cracks have been caused by thermal movement as a result of blockwork failure. To repair this, we had to reinforce the blockwork behind with the Helifix stitch repair system. We then applied basecoat, fibre mesh reinforcement, and over coated the affected elevations with our specialist resin emulsion paint with a scratch finish to match the existing render.
This new build property was damaged by a lorry on site. Our skilled professionals were able to cut off the damaged elevations and repair the property back to its original finish.
This homeowner previously had the external rendering carried out incorrectly by another contractor, this resulted in the render system failing. We completely removed all of the existing render, back to block work substrate. Then reapplied the correct render system (K-rend monocouche). Including full mesh fibre reinforcement bedded in the basecoat.
Render repair and maintenance are essential for preserving the integrity and appearance of your property's exterior. Regular upkeep helps prevent deterioration, water ingress, and structural damage, prolonging the lifespan of the render and enhancing the overall aesthetics of the building.
Common issues that may necessitate render repair include cracks, chips, fading, algae or mold growth, and water damage. Addressing these issues promptly can prevent further deterioration and costly repairs down the line.
The frequency of render maintenance depends on various factors such as the type of render, climate, and exposure to environmental elements. As a general guideline, it's recommended to inspect and maintain the render annually to address any emerging issues and ensure its longevity.
Significant render damage or structural issues should be addressed by a professional. Hiring a qualified contractor ensures that repairs are carried out correctly and safely, with the appropriate materials and techniques.
Render repair and maintenance typically involve cleaning the surface, repairing cracks or damage, applying patching compound or filler, and reapplying protective coatings or sealants as needed. The specific steps may vary depending on the extent of the damage and the type of render.
To prevent future render damage, it's important to maintain proper drainage around the property, keep vegetation trimmed away from the walls, and address any underlying issues such as moisture infiltration promptly.
